This week we continue our study of Joshua with part two of our three-part series: “Remember.” Last week we were invited to remember who God says WE are. This Sunday, our reading from Joshua 3 finds God’s people facing an impossible situation: crossing the flooded Jordan River in order to take over an occupied territory. How are they supposed to do that?
Once again, God meets his people where they are. And this time, God reminds them who He is: the Lord of all the earth who does amazing things among his people, a Living God who goes before his beloved into uncertain times and places. He is a trustworthy God who is WITH his people.
Our mission at Monroe Community Church—connecting our downtown community to our life-changing God—is grounded first in God’s goodness to us and His ability to transform us through His Son, Jesus Christ. As transformed disciples of Jesus, we are called to give joyfully. Our gifts of our time, our skills, and our money are part of that transforming power of Jesus Christ. We encourage you to consider how you can give joyfully.
