What If We Don't Hear from God?

Daddy, can you help me?
Today, Pastor Henry brought up this question and read from Deuteronomy 32 where Moses told them a song to remember God's covenant. He talked about what happens when you're playing with Legos and you stop following the instructions, and how similar that is to when we live without listening to God's word. In Deut. 32 we read how God hid his face from the people who deserted Him.
Remember these key verses!
Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. They are not just idle words for you--they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess. Deut. 32:46-47
Are God's words idle words, or are they life to you?

We started reading the Eugene Peterson book and idle words take on a whole new meaning. It is easy to take in God's word for information, even instruction but to really integrate God's words so that we live them, breathe them or "eat" them is the challenge. We'll stay tuned...
